Dr Joe Milton is a Senior Media Officer at the Australian Science Media Centre (AusSMC). He is also a PhD evolutionary biologist who studied at the University of Edinburgh, The Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, and the University of St Andrews. Joe then achieved an MA (distinction) in Science Journalism from City University London. Since then, Joe has been the Assistant Editor of a pair of journals for the Royal Society of Biology, and written for the Financial Times, Nature and New Scientist, among others. Joe joined the UK Science Media Centre in 2010 as Senior Press Officer for Mental Health, before moving to Australia in 2012.Joe is a regular on ABC Weekend Nightlife, ABC Radio NSW/ACT Evenings, and ABC Radio Darwin Mornings. And for 10 years, Joe was one of ABC Radio National’s ‘research filters’, chatting science on the Drive show with hosts Waleed Ali, Patricia Karvelas, and Andy Park.
