Prof. Jozef Gécz, PhD is National Health and Medical Research Council Senior Principal Research Fellow and Honorary Channel 7 Chair for the Prevention of Childhood Disability at the University of Adelaide and South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, Adelaide, Australia. Professor Gécz’ research is patient centric and focuses on the application of genomics for precision diagnosis of childhood onset neurodevelopmental disabilities to empower early and personalised management and/or treatment. Professor Gécz discovered or contributed to the discovery of >300 disease genes. Professor Gécz is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science (FAA), Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (FAHMS) and the Faculty of Science of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FFSc RCPA) and South Australian Scientist of the year 2019.
